BA, Grad Dip, Master of Sustainability
I’m all about the food.
I’m not a chef and I don’t have any formal training in the kitchen.
I don’t have any aspirations to be on a cooking show and I won’t ever run a restaurant.
But I love food. Really love it. And not just eating it – although I really do enjoy that!
I enjoy the whole gastronomical process. That is, absolutely everything that goes into the choosing, cooking, and eating of food. I am also a sustainability specialist so I think about these issues in terms of how they affect our eco system and our planet.
I am a teacher and facilitator by trade. I started my working life as a voice and dialect coach for theatre, film and business, but now I use the creative techniques from that line of work to engage people around food and educate about sustainability.
You can hear me most weekends chatting with Simon Marnie on ABC Radio Sydney about the Farm Gate Trail and other issues to do with a healthy, sustainable food system.
I do these sorts of things:
- Writing and research about food and sustainability
- Workshops and presentations that use food as a way to talk about sustainability
- Develop creative content about the connection between human and environmental health
- Teach basic cooking skills to small groups
I live in Sydney, Australia with my young family who patiently put up with me photographing every meal.
