Chai-spiced Pear Compote
I make this with the same chai-spice mix that I add to my teapot when making tea. If you don’t have access to that kind of a mix you can experiment by adding black pepper, ginger, green cardamom and cinnamon as either whole or ground spices.

Ingredients
Instructions
  1. Peel, core and dice pear into small pieces.
  2. Place pear in small saucepan with water, spice-mix and cinnamon stick.
  3. Place on heat, bring to boil, the reduce heat and simmer for up to 20mins until pear is soft.
  4. Add sultanas to absorb the excess cooking liquid.
  5. Serve warm, or transfer to container to chill in fridge. Serve of dessert or breakfast.
