I love the golden colour of this turmeric coconut rice dish that comes from the – you guessed it – turmeric! The earthy flavour of the spice is augmented by aromatics like garlic, ginger and onion. The coconut cream works with the stock to give a real fullness to the dish’s flavour. But still the taste is subtle and nothing is over powering.
The flavour ingredients here are some of the cheapest in the supermarket but still allow you to add extra nutrients to a staple dish like rice.
The rice is still a good base to ladle curry on and a good side to any kind of main meal. It goes especially well with Turmeric and Honey BBQ chicken.
